Is there a way to find out where a specific article or paper is referenced in another paper or article?
Let's say you have an article called "Earthquakes in the Texas Panhandle" and you want to find articles that cite "Earthquakes in the Texas Panhandle." How do I find those articles?
Answer
Web of Science is a great resource for finding the number of times a specific article is cited in subsequent research.
- Navigate to Web of Science
- Search for your article
- Enter its record
- On the right side with the heading of "Citation Network," you'll find a number with "Times Cited" underneath. This number indicates the number of times that article was cited in other works
- If you click on the number (giving it is not 0), Web of Science will present you a list of articles that cited your original article.
